Sifu/Guro Troy is one of the most well rounded and skilled martial arts instructors I know. If you live in Grand Junction this the only place to train.

My son has been going to mars for over five years now. He has opened up so much and has so much respect for everyone around him and even himself. I would tell anyone to go here over any other school. The owners love the kids and they work hard to find instructors who feel the same. Great job guys!!!!

The instructors here are just amazing! My son is in martial arts and he LOVES it they make it fun while teaching which is perfect to keep him focused and engaged. Im in kickboxing, just starting my my third week and I can't say enough great things about the instructors. They are fun and patient, they explain what we are working on if it's something I haven't learned yet they have no problem going over it again. It is such a positive, comfortable environment all around. When you come to class it feels like you are with friends and family not just at some gym. My family will be with MARS for many years to come. My husband is even taking kickboxing classes now as well!! Thank you all so much you are fantastic :-)

Easily one of the best schools in the entire state of Colorado. The people that work there are genuine and caring. The curriculum is thorough - and rare. You won't find another school with the same level of knowledge available in one place. I highly recommend them for all ages for anyone that wants to learn about comprehensive self defense, get in shape, or take their training to another level.

My two oldest sons love your martial arts school, they have both gained self confidence, are more respectful and attentive. They also have become great leaders, modeling the correct behavior more often than not. My oldest has really enjoyed being a part of the leadership/demo team and gets his community service hours for school by helping the younger students. They are both looking forward to the kids fitness kickboxing program starting this summer as well.

I'm new to this discipline but I'm really enjoying the workout and the learning. I used to feel insecure about my ability to defend myself in such case, but with what I'm learning I feel more empowered. And the instructors are encouraging and don't make me feel any less because I'm out of shape! I feel great when I leave each class. Beating a bag is so therapeutic too!!! I can say that anger management is no longer needed. Ha ha

My son began karate over a year ago. I would have never picked this activity for him. After asking what seemed to be a million times, we registered for the 6 week introductory program and the rest is history! My son is the happiest doing karate than I've seen him in any other sport. He looks up to the instructors and is learning concepts about leadership that expand beyond karate as a discipline. Thank you MARS.

My son has been going here for over a year now and he has gained so much confidence! The instructors are wonderful and really care about the students. They also do school talks and came to the school where I teach and talked to the first graders. The students got to learn how to be safe and some martial arts moves. They loved it so much they still ask me to use the martial arts terms for sitting and standing!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT KICKBOXING

How many people are in a group class?

Classes vary and will range between 8-25 people. The larger the class, the more instructors to help out!

Will there be other beginners in my class?

Absolutely. There are always beginners in class. Plus, the advanced students are always eager to help you learn along the way.

Will you help me with my nutritional habits?

Yes! We believe that nutrition is a key part in your progress and overall health. We educate you along the way with nutritional tips via class, emails and our members group. You can join us for our monthly challenges which are more in depth in nutrition and personal coaching to cover your specific questions.

Is your class a ‘cardio kickboxing’ class?

Our class is not a “follow the leader/punch the air” cardio class. It is a well-balanced workout consisting of cardio training and resistance training to help you burn fat and tone muscle in a short amount of time.

Will your kickboxing class help me tone up?

The combination of cardio, resistance training and proper diet (which we will help you with!) will help you to tone up very quickly.

How many classes per week should I attend?

We have classes 6 days a week so the amount of classes you take is based on your own personal schedule. Most of our members train about 1-3 times per week and see great results.

Why can’t I just do some ‘cardio’ instead of kickboxing?

You absolutely can just do cardio BUT, without the right amount of proper resistance training, you won’t see the results you’re looking for as quickly and effectively. Cardio can be an important part of a fat loss program but you need to develop lean muscle tissue to really turn your body into a fat melting machine. The only really effective way to do that is through resistance training, which is exactly what our Kickboxing program does. We combine Cardio and Resistance training into one super fat-burning-muscle-sculpting-fun workout!

Do I need to ‘get in shape’ before I start your classes?

A common misunderstanding is that you need to be ‘in shape’ before starting kickboxing training. This is completely false. Our classes are designed to allow our members to train ‘at their own pace’ while at the same time, giving the advanced student the opportunity to challenge themselves.

How long do the kickboxing classes last?

Our classes our 45 minutes each.

What are the membership and class prices?

We offer a variety of membership options. To get the most up to date pricing and specials, get set up for a class! At that time we will answer questions you have and recommend which option will be best for you to get started with.

What is the minimum age to take classes?

The minimum age to attend class is 13 years old. Kids ages 13-17 must be accompanied by parent or guardian to first class.

Are our classes co-ed?

Yes! although most classes consist of about 90% females, anyone is welcomed to workout with us!

How can I get started?
