ve been training here since 2010 and even though a lot has changed it is still one of the best training schools in the valley. Once you start youre apart of the family. Everyone there will help you grow any way they can.

Sifu/Guro Troy is one of the most well rounded and skilled martial arts instructors I know. If you live in Grand Junction this the only place to train.

My son has been going to mars for over five years now. He has opened up so much and has so much respect for everyone around him and even himself. I would tell anyone to go here over any other school. The owners love the kids and they work hard to find instructors who feel the same. Great job guys!!!!

The instructors here are just amazing! My son is in martial arts and he LOVES it they make it fun while teaching which is perfect to keep him focused and engaged. Im in kickboxing, just starting my my third week and I can't say enough great things about the instructors. They are fun and patient, they explain what we are working on if it's something I haven't learned yet they have no problem going over it again. It is such a positive, comfortable environment all around. When you come to class it feels like you are with friends and family not just at some gym. My family will be with MARS for many years to come. My husband is even taking kickboxing classes now as well!! Thank you all so much you are fantastic :-)

Easily one of the best schools in the entire state of Colorado. The people that work there are genuine and caring. The curriculum is thorough - and rare. You won't find another school with the same level of knowledge available in one place. I highly recommend them for all ages for anyone that wants to learn about comprehensive self defense, get in shape, or take their training to another level.

My two oldest sons love your martial arts school, they have both gained self confidence, are more respectful and attentive. They also have become great leaders, modeling the correct behavior more often than not. My oldest has really enjoyed being a part of the leadership/demo team and gets his community service hours for school by helping the younger students. They are both looking forward to the kids fitness kickboxing program starting this summer as well.

I'm new to this discipline but I'm really enjoying the workout and the learning. I used to feel insecure about my ability to defend myself in such case, but with what I'm learning I feel more empowered. And the instructors are encouraging and don't make me feel any less because I'm out of shape! I feel great when I leave each class. Beating a bag is so therapeutic too!!! I can say that anger management is no longer needed. Ha ha

My son began karate over a year ago. I would have never picked this activity for him. After asking what seemed to be a million times, we registered for the 6 week introductory program and the rest is history! My son is the happiest doing karate than I've seen him in any other sport. He looks up to the instructors and is learning concepts about leadership that expand beyond karate as a discipline. Thank you MARS.

My son has been going here for over a year now and he has gained so much confidence! The instructors are wonderful and really care about the students. They also do school talks and came to the school where I teach and talked to the first graders. The students got to learn how to be safe and some martial arts moves. They loved it so much they still ask me to use the martial arts terms for sitting and standing!

Crush Your Cravings!

Fact: Nearly everyone experiences food cravings.

Also fact: Many people feel like simply HAVING a craving means they don’t have discipline or are somehow “weak” when it comes to eating a healthy diet.

Time to break that fast belief! Your body might be triggering cravings for a long list of reasons … and some of them even include helping to keep us alive!
Discipline is overrated!

What if I told you that relying on discipline to beat your food cravings is a BAD idea – especially if you’re having cravings every day or night?

I mean, self-control is a good thing … but discipline? It can set you up for failure!

Here’s what I’m talking about …

Have you ever heard the old saying, “It’s easier to manage your money when you have some in your bank account”?

It’s the same thing with cravings and discipline! If you’re in a constant battle to keep your food cravings at bay, your discipline account is probably overdrawn.

This matters because when you get at the underlying cause of your cravings, it makes avoiding them SO MUCH EASIER.

In order to set yourself up for optimal success we have a few guidelines that will help you along the way:

● Set yourself up for success by eating protein- and fiber-rich foods throughout the day (especially at breakfast).
● Rebalance your hunger hormones by getting enough sleep.
● Avoid skipping meals or “forgetting” to eat.
● Set your environment up for success.

I’m so excited for you to stop feeling like you have to gut out your cravings … and for you to start rebuilding a healthy relationship with your favorite foods!

You’ll love how you feel … and you’ll also love the results!

And as a bonus I’ve got a quick no-cook recipe for you today that’s packed with craving-crushing ingredients!

It’s simple … delicious … and it’s portable!

That means you can pack it up and bring it to work for a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack! Or you can enjoy it at home whenever you want a creamy-crunchy treat.

This spicy dip is packed with fiber, protein, and healthy fats which means it can prevent cravings. Plus, it’s a great way to sneak more veggies into your daily diet.

Try using bell pepper strips, carrot sticks, or maybe even broccoli florets! Experiment and enjoy – and feel free to pump up the heat a little. 🙂

Black Bean Dip
(makes 4 servings)

1 15-oz (425 gram) can black beans, rinsed
¼ cup (55 g) plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1-2 dashes of your favorite hot sauce (or sriracha) – more to taste
½ tsp each ground cumin and garlic powder
¼ tsp each salt and pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
¼ cup (40 g) chopped onion

Place all the ingredients EXCEPT oil and onion in a food processor, and process until smooth. Add oil and onion and pulse until well mixed (about 20 seconds). Taste and adjust the seasonings. Place in a bowl and serve with pepper slices, celery, carrots, or your favorite fresh veggies to dip.

I hope this helps you keep your cravings at bay!
